Zoerner's Drug Task Force Targets Fentanyl Dealers Through Proactive Enforcement

Sheriff David Zoerner has made disrupting drug trafficking operations a top priority, with a particular focus on removing fentanyl from Kenosha County communities. Through proactive investigations and strong partnerships with local law enforcement, the Kenosha Drug Operations Group (KDOG) continues to identify and arrest individuals responsible for distributing dangerous narcotics.

In August 2023, KDOG detectives, Kenosha County Sheriff's Department deputies, detectives, and officers from the Twin Lakes Police Department conducted a targeted drug interdiction operation following information received from a concerned citizen regarding suspected narcotics trafficking.

During the investigation, detectives observed suspected drug transactions before safely taking two suspects into custody. The operation resulted in the seizure of:

• Nearly 16 grams of crack cocaine

• More than 11 grams of fentanyl

• Drug paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of illegal narcotics

The suspects were arrested and booked on multiple felony charges related to the possession and distribution of fentanyl and cocaine, along with additional charges stemming from the investigation.

The operation was completed safely without injuries to law enforcement officers or members of the public.

"Fentanyl continues to be one of the greatest threats facing our communities. Every dealer we remove from our streets is one less person spreading these deadly drugs in our neighborhoods. Our deputies and detectives will continue to aggressively investigate drug trafficking and work with our law enforcement partners to protect Kenosha County families."

Sheriff Zoerner has strengthened KDOG's proactive enforcement efforts by encouraging collaboration among local, county, state, and federal agencies while also fostering partnerships with the community. Many of the Sheriff's Office's most successful investigations begin with information provided by citizens who choose to report suspicious activity. Under Zoerner's leadership, every credible tip is thoroughly investigated because keeping dangerous drugs off the streets requires both dedicated law enforcement and an engaged community working together.
